Adding Content

Welcome to Folio. First step to getting your site up and running will be to login to your folio site.

Head to your folio control panel address:

Enter the username and password we emailed you, and you should now be presented with the control panel area.

To create a new post, head to the new section of the tool bar and select post. Posts are used for blogs, news and more importantly, photo essays and portfolios.

Add a title to your post straight away.

Now youʼre ready to start adding images. Click the upload/insert option below the post title.

You can now drag and drop files to the little pop up window, or click select to choose your files. File sizes shouldnʼt be larger than 4MB and 4000px longest edge. Ideally you want the files to be about 1024px and around 150kb. We recommend using software such as lightroom to get all your images prepped, but whatever you use, ensure the colour profile is sRGB and not adobe RGB.

Images will begin uploading as soon as youʼve dropped. Or alternatively you can use the select and browse option.

Wait for them all to upload.

Once theyʼre uploaded you can click show to add caption information if you wish, tho this will have been pulled from any exif data anyway.

You can now close that little pop up window and click save draft.

Once youʼve done this, if you scroll down, youʼll see a manage images section. Here you can drag and drop your images to create the order you want. They naturally come in the order of the file name, so you may not need to.

On the bottom right there is a featured image. This is usually the first image you uploaded, but you can remove this and set to a different image if you wish. This image is what appears on your share links for social networks as well as the cover image in the visual category pages.

Scroll back up and you will see a camera icon on the right hand side. Select this and the following window will pop up.

This camera icon is how the site knows to include a photo gallery.

You can also add text or HTML slides which could include videos. To do this enter code like shown below. To embed a video, you will need the embed code and need to add this through the HTML tab and not visual.
